The main floor is yours year-round. Heat, cold, rain, snow, perfect 75-and-sunny — none of it changes the answer. Your event happens. Indoors. With the same stage, same lights, same bar, same everything you booked it for.

The Patio at Putnam is open seasonally — typically May through October, weather permitting. When it’s open, it’s an extension of the venue: cocktail hour under string lights, smoker-friendly breakouts, photo backdrops your guests will actually use.

What’s the capacity for a private event?
400 standing or up to 200 seated. The 200-seated bump was newly approved by the city in 2026, moving Putnam into the upper-mid Saratoga venue tier — between Hall of Springs and Saratoga Casino — and giving you real flexibility for plated dinners and full-bar standing events under one roof.
Can I bring my own caterer?
Yes. You can use one of our partner caterers (we’ll send a list once we know your guest count) or bring your own. Caterers prep off-site and serve from their own setup — plated dinners, stations, and food trucks all work.
When is The Patio at Putnam open?
The patio is seasonal — typically May through October, weather permitting. The 400-cap main room is always available year-round, so weather never decides whether your event happens. The patio is the bonus.
How far in advance should I book?
Saturdays in summer fill up three to six months out. Weeknights and shoulder seasons are easier — sometimes a few weeks is enough. Submit the form below and we’ll send live availability.
Do you handle live entertainment?
We can. Putnam’s been booking talent for 20 years downtown — DJs, live bands, drag, comedy, whatever fits your night. Tell us the vibe and we’ll send recommendations or book it for you.
Is there parking?
Yes. Public lot directly across Putnam Street, metered street parking on the block, and several parking garages within a short walk. Most guests walk between Putnam and the surrounding bars and hotels — Hampton Inn, Saratoga Arms, The Adelphi, and Holiday Inn are all within ten minutes on foot.
