SUMMARY:Sponge wsg/ Ginger Geezus
DESCRIPTION:Doors: 6:30pm\nShow: 7:30pm \nAges: 21+ \nTickets: $35 \n** Click Here to Purchase Tickets ** \n  \nSponge is an American alternative rock band formed in Detroit\, Michigan in 1992 by vocalist Vinnie Dombroski\, guitarists Mike Cross and Joey Mazzola\, bassist Tim Cross\, and drummer Jimmy Paluzzi. \nAfter shopping demos as the newly formed quintet\, the song “Neenah Menasha” caught the ears of A&R person Pablo Mathiason and the band signed with The Work Group (a Columbia Records subsidiary) in the fall of 1993. The following year\, Sponge released the now iconic\, Platinum-selling debut album\, “Rotting Piñata\,” to global\, critical and commercial success. \nAfter two top 10 hit singles\, several tours and live television performances\, including the Jon Stewart Show and Late Night with David Letterman\, Sponge followed up their debut with 1996’s “Wax Ecstatic.” This sophomore effort garnered a “Song Of The Year” nod\nfrom Rolling Stone Magazine for title track “Wax Ecstatic.” The album also yielded two additional top 10 hit singles and featured a guest vocal appearance from Richard Butler of the Psychedelic Furs on the song “I Am Anastasia.” \nSince then\, Sponge continues to release new music and keeps a near-constant tour schedule to the pleasure of their legion of loyal followers. \nThough continually led by Vinnie Dombroski\, Sponge’s lead singer and chief songwriter\, the band has seen a few line-up changes over the course of its 30+ year career. Sponge currently features: Andy Patalan (guitar\, vocals) and his brother Tim Patalan (bass). The Patalan brothers were a natural addition to the band\, having previously engineered and produced the first three Sponge records at their studio\, The Loft\, in Saline\, Michigan. The Brothers Patalan are joined by Kyle Neely (guitar) and recent addition\, former Taproot drummer Dave Coughlin. \nSponge’s discography includes nine studio albums\, four live albums\, and seven charting singles; 4 of which have made Billboard Magazines top 10. The band has also been featured on several compilations and movie soundtracks over their decades long career. \nThey are best known for their prominent 1994 hit single “Plowed” (#5 on Billboard Alt Rock) as well as the 1995 hit “Molly (16 Candles)” (#3 on Billboard Alt Rock)\, the 1996 hit “Wax Ecstatic” (#10 on Billboard Mainstream Rock) and 1997’s hit “Have You Seen Mary”(#7 on Billboard Mainstream Rock) respectively. \nSponge is busy supporting their latest release and shows no sign of stopping for the foreseeable future. \nProudly representing the city of Detroit\, Sponge takes their well earned place as a part of Rock-N-Roll’s lengthy musical history. \nWebsite: www.spongetheband.com \n  \n \n  \n  \n \nGinger Geezus is a Blues Rock project based out of Upstate NY. He notes his live show has become a personal journey for him\, one where he lets you in on with an infectious energy that leaves you wanting more. His upcoming debut song “A Man That Didn’t Know Nothin'” is the first in a series of autobiographical singles that make up his forthcoming debut album. \n“When you listen to the full record – starting with my first release\, ‘A Man That Didn’t Know Nothin’ – it tells the story of my life from front to back: from where I’m at so far\, and the journey it took to get here. If you listen to this record from start to finish\, you will know me. This record is Styles. And that starts with the first song.” \nStyles’ talent has already earned him opening tour slots for Jake Owen\, Brantley Gilbert\, Brett Elderedge\, Chris Jansen\, Dwight Yoakam\, Uncle Kracker\, Tyler Farr\, and most recently\, Darius Rucker. \nAn avid fisherman and hunter\, STyles is equally committed to family\, music and the outdoors\, often citing his real-life inspiration in his songs\, from marrying his hometown girlfriend\, to the ups and downs of adulthood and fatherhood\, his friendships and pastimes\, to the peace he has found in the life he leads. \nStyles Haury composes under Warner Chappell\, Nashville label. He has has written songs Craig Morgan\, Craig Campbell\, Jimmie Allen\, and his most recent #1 hit\, “Country On”\, for Luke Bryan. \nWebsite: www.styleshaurymusic.com \n  \n \n  \n  \n \nMatt Cosgrove was born and raised in Saratoga NY\, the hidden gem of the northeast. Mama’s Kitchen will be serving up delicious Caribbean cuisine on the patio to fuel your dance moves. \n  \n \n  \n  \n \nRafy Cabrera is a dynamic and genre-blending artist whose roots trace back to the Dominican Republic and whose sound reflects the rich cultural fusion of the Caribbean. Known for his commanding voice\, infectious rhythms\, and deep connection to Latin musical traditions\, Rafy’s style effortlessly blends bachata\, merengue\, salsa\, urban\, and tropical influences\, creating a sound that is both timeless and undeniably fresh. \nBorn in Gaspar Hernández\, in the Dominican province of Espaillat\, and raised in Puerto Rico\, Rafy was immersed in music from a young age. He grew up surrounded by the rhythms of the island and the storytelling soul of bachata\, eventually transforming those early influences into a musical identity all his own. As both a vocalist and songwriter\, Rafy’s work is known for its authenticity\, energy\, and ability to connect across generations and cultures. \nWhile many recognize Rafy Cabrera as a radio pioneer—helping introduce and promote some of the biggest names in bachata to Puerto Rican audiences—his musicianship has steadily carved out its own lane. Rafy’s performances combine live instrumentation with genre-crossing production\, and his lyrics often touch on themes of love\, resilience\, identity\, and celebration. \nOn stage\, Rafy brings a vibrant charisma\, winning over audiences whether he’s fronting a full tropical band\, delivering stripped-down acoustic sets\, or moving crowds with danceable\, high-energy tracks. His deep understanding of Latin music culture\, honed from years in broadcasting and artist development\, informs every performance\, making him a standout figure in the new generation of Caribbean music voices. \n  \n \n  \nReturn to Calendar
